I liked the books, but the facts that Ombra sucked your soul out, it was cold when he entered the room, and he liked the dark and damp made me feel awkward when I read the books. I do know a book that uses the name Nicholas Flamel, it's called The Alchemyst. But since he was a real person it's not really copying, especially since the story line is nowhere near the same. Ha, Larry Potter, that's funny! Peter and the Shadow Thieves is the sequel to Peter and the Star Catchers, right? That was a good book. I can’t think of any real knock offs.
